Using the Extended Archives to Update a Japan Address

Using the Extended Archives to Update a Japan Address

To update an older Japan address, first validate the address in batch or interactive mode. Address validation returns a Choumei Aza code for the address. Enter the Choumei Aza code in address code lookup to retrieve the newer address. You might need to perform some steps more than once.
Before you update the address, set the
MatchingExtendedArchive
attribute of the
Process
element to ON.
To obtain the current address and the current Choumei Aza code for an older address, perform the following steps:
  1. Enter a valid older address to Address Verification in batch or interactive mode.
Address Verification returns a validated address and a new Choumei Aza code.
  2. Configure Address Verification in address code lookup mode, and enter the Choumei Aza code that you received in the output from the previous step.
Address Verification returns a newer version of the address and the Choumei Aza code for the newer address.
  3. Compare the input Choumei Aza code and the output Choumei Aza code from the operation in step 2.
    • If the input and output codes match, the output address and the output Choumei Aza code represent the current version of the address.
    • If the input and output codes do not match, repeat step 2.
When you repeat step 2, use the most recent Choumei Aza code that Address Verification returns. You might need to repeat the steps more than once.
