Assigning Data Lake Permissions to Users and Groups

Assigning Data Lake Permissions to Users and Groups

You can assign permissions to users or groups of users to perform operations on Hive schemas and HDFS locations in the data lake.
  1. Select the
    Settings
    icon, and then select
    Lake Management
    .
  2. Click the
    Security Management
    tab.
  3. Click
    Add
    .
  4. Start typing the user name of a user or group in the User/Group field, and then select the user or group to add.
    To filter user names, click the filter icon, select
    Add Field>User/Group Name
    , and then enter the user's user name.
    The application adds the unique identifier for the user or group, and the security domain to which the user or group belongs.
  5. Select the resource on which to grant the user or group permissions.
  6. Select the data lake schema or folder associated with the resource on which to grant the user or group permissions.
  7. Select
    Grant
    under each permission you want to grant to the user or group.
  8. Click
    Save
    .
