Assign Enterprise Data Catalog Permissions

Use Catalog Administrator to set the Read and Write permission on
Enterprise Data Catalog
resources used by
Enterprise Data Preparation
. Setting the permission enables
Enterprise Data Preparation
users or groups of users to assign custom attributes, business terms, and data domains to assets retrieved from the catalog in search results.
Enterprise Data Preparation
users must be associated with the catalog. If you add a new
Enterprise Data Preparation
user to the Informatica domain, you
must
run the user resource in Catalog Administrator.

Complete the following steps to assign catalog permissions:
  1. In Catalog Administrator, click
    Manage
    Security
    .
    The
    Security
    tab page opens with the
    Users and Groups
    option selected in the
    View
    section.
  2. Select
    Resources
    from the
    View
    section.
    The list of resources configured in Enterprise Data Catalog appears.
  3. Select the resource for which you want to assign permissions for the users or user groups.
  4. Select a user or a user group.
  5. Select the
    Read and Write
    permission from the
    Permissions
    drop-down list.
