Monitoring

Effective in version 10.0, the
Monitoring
tab in the Administrator tool is renamed the
Monitor
tab.
The
Monitor
tab has the following new features:
Views on the Monitor tab
The
Monitor
tab contains the following views:
  • Summary Statistics
view. Displays resource usage, object distribution, and object states for a selected time range.
    The following image shows the
    Summary Statistics
    view:
The execution statistics view shows the contents and status of the domain. The filter at the top of the page has the domain selected and displays a time range of the last month. Beneath the filter are horizontal panels that contain multicolored doughnut charts. The doughnut charts show the state and distribution of objects across the data integration services. There view shows the following panels in descending order: ad hoc jobs, deployed mappings and workflows, requests and connections. Each panel contains a doughnut that lists the quantity and state of the objects. The next doughnut lists the distribution of the objects by type. The last doughnut lists the distribution of objects by data integration service. Underneath the object panels is a resource usage panel that shows memory and cpu usage for the data integration services.
  • Execution Statistics
view. Contains the Navigator and views that were on the
    Monitoring
    tab in previous versions.
Views on the Execution Statistics view
You can view statistics about ad hoc mapping jobs, deployed mapping jobs, and mapping objects in a workflow.
When you select one of these objects in the contents panel, the details panel displays the following new views:
  • Summary Statistics
view. Displays throughput and resource usage information for the source and target.
    The following image shows the
    Summary Statistics
    view for a mapping job:
The Summary Statistics view for a Mapping job has two sections: throughput and resource usage. The Throughput section displays statistics for the source and target. The resource usage section lists the executing node, cpu usage, and memory usage for the job.
  • Detailed Statistics
view. Appears for jobs that run in separate local processes for longer than one minute. Displays graphs of throughput and resource usage information for the source and target.
    The following image shows the
    Detailed Statistics
view for a mapping job in a workflow:
The Detailed Statistics view for a Mapping job has two sections: throughput and resource usage. The Throughput graph plots the rows processed against the time it took to run the mapping. The Resource Usage has a graph for CPU usage and a graph for memory usage. the Graphs plot usage against the time it took to run the mapping.
Configuration
Monitoring Configuration, formerly Global Settings, has the new option
Preserve Detailed Historical Data
. Use this option to configure when expired per-minute statistics can be purged from the Model repository. Default is 14. Minimum is 1. Maximum is 14.
