New Features and Enhancements (10.0)

This section describes the new features and enhancements in version 10.0.

New DVOCmd Options

Data Validation Option Command Line integration has new options.
The following table describes the new options for Data Validation Option commands:
Command
Description
ExportMetadata
Contains the following new options:
  • folderNames. Specify one or more source folders to export.
  • externalIDs. Specify one or more individual objects to export.
  • skipInvalidObjects. Skip all invalid objects when you export a folder.
RefreshRepository
Can use the folder option to refresh more than one folder at a time.
RunTests
Can use folderNames to prepare tests on one or more source folders. This is in addition to the existing external_ID option.
InstallTests
Can use folderNames to prepare tests in one or more source folders. This is in addition to the existing external_ID option.
PurgeRuns
Can use PurgeRuns to delete data to the ALL_VALUE_RESULT_DETAIL table. This is in addition to the existing tables that PurgeRuns deletes data from.

Connections

You can use Cloudera Impala as a source and target.
You can use Hortonworks Hive as a source and target.
To connect to Impala and Hive, you must do the following:
  • Install the Cloudera 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC drivers, and the Hortonworks 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC drivers.
  • Configure an ODBC 32-bit connection in PowerCenter to import data from Impala and Hive.
  • Configure a 64-bit connection in PowerCenter to read run-time data from the source and write to the target.
Informatica supports the following Cloudera and Hortonworks versions:
  • Cloudera
    • ODBC driver version: Cloudera Impala ODBC driver 2.5_29
    • Source support: Impala 2.2.0, Hive 1.1.0 (HiveServer2) running on CDH 5.4x
  • Hortonworks
    • ODBC driver version: Hortonworks 2.0 ODBC driver (32-bit and 64-bit)
    • Source support: Hive 0.14 (HiveServer2) running on Hortonworks 2.2.x

Metadata Refresh

Effective in version 10.0, the repository size no longer affects the folder refresh time.
