This error occurs when you click the Authenticate button. The mail server you are trying to connect to either does not exist or is not accessible from your machine.
Verify that the name of the mail server that you want to connect to is correct and the mail server is accessible from your machine.

The mail server you are trying to connect to does not support the protocol.
Verify that the protocol over which connection is being established is supported by the target mail server.
