PowerExchange ODBC Data Sources on Windows

PowerExchange ODBC Data Sources on Windows

Use the PowerExchange ODBC drivers to access PowerExchange ODBC data sources.
Before you create PowerExchange ODBC data sources on Windows, install 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the following PowerExchange ODBC drivers:
  • Informatica PowerExchange ODBC Driver. This driver accesses data and metadata for PowerExchange sources and targets.
  • Informatica PowerExchange Unicode ODBC Driver. This driver accesses metadata for certain PowerExchange multibyte sources and targets.
For more information about installing these drivers, see the
PowerExchange Installation and Upgrade Guide
.
After you install the PowerExchange ODBC drivers on Windows, use the
Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator
to define PowerExchange ODBC data sources. Also, after you upgrade to a new PowerExchange release on Windows, use the
Windows ODBC Data Source Administrator
to update PowerExchange ODBC data sources that you defined in an earlier release.
Create ODBC data sources on the following machines:
  • On the PowerCenter Client machine, create 32-bit ODBC data sources so that PowerCenter can import the metadata for PowerExchange sources and targets.
  • If you are using Informatica Data Archive, create 32-bit ODBC data sources on the Data Archive Server.
  • On the machine that runs the PowerCenter Integration Service, create 64-bit ODBC data sources so that PowerCenter workflows can connect to the PowerExchange Listener and extract data for PowerExchange sources or targets.
