You can specify an encrypted password in some PowerExchange configuration files, pwxcmd commands, and utility statements. For access to z/OS, you can encrypt a valid PowerExchange passphrase.

In the
Password
box, type a clear text password. Alternatively, for access to i5/OS or z/OS, enter a valid PowerExchange passphrase.
A passphrase for i5/OS access can be from 9 to 31 characters in length. A passphrase for z/OS access can be from 9 to 128 characters in length (non-ODBC) or from 9 to 79 characters in length (ODBC). A passphrase can contain the following characters:
Uppercase and lowercase letters
The numbers 0 to 9
Spaces
The following special characters:
’ - ; # \ , . / ! % & * ( ) _ + { } : @ | < > ?
The first character is an apostrophe.
Passphrases cannot include single quotation marks (‘), double quotation marks (“), or currency symbols.

The encrypted password or passphrase appears in the
Encrypted Password
box.
Copy and paste the encrypted password or passphrase into the appropriate parameter in a configuration file, utility statement, or command option.
