Delivery Sequence File Second Generation No Statistics Reason

Output port that identifies the reason why the USPS adds an address to the No-Statistics table.
The USPS maintains a Delivery Sequence File that lists all United States addresses with a valid delivery point code. Address validation validates an address against the Delivery Sequence File if the address contains a valid Delivery Point Code.
The USPS also maintains a table of addresses that are formally correct but that do not qualify for inclusion in the Delivery Sequence File. The table is called the No-Statistics table. The USPS does not deliver mail to any address on the table. Because the address does not qualify for a carrier route, the USPS does not collect statistics about the address. The Delivery Sequence File Second Generation No Statistics Indicator port returns a status value that indicates whether an address is present on the table.
The USPS might add an address to the No-Statistics table for one of the following reasons:
  • The USPS has not yet established delivery to the address.
  • The customer receives mail as a part of mail forwarding service.
  • The postal carrier returns the mail undelivered.
The Delivery Sequence File also omits general delivery addresses. An address is considered "general delivery" if the addressee cannot receive mail at a physical mailbox. General delivery addressees can collect mail at a USPS post office.

Internal drop address.
The input address does not receive mail directly from the USPS. Instead, the USPS delivers to a drop-off address that serves the input address.

The address is a new construction, and the USPS has not yet established delivery to the address.
Or, the address lies on a rural route, contract delivery service route, or highway contract route, and the delivery point is unoccupied for more than 90 days.

The address does not have a valid delivery point.

The address is located at a college, military zone, or similar site.

The USPS declares that the address is no longer deliverable. The address might reside on an R777 route, or it might identify a Post Office Box that is not available to rent.
