Assigning Permissions

Assigning Permissions

As a glossary administrator, assign permissions to a user or group to control access to glossaries and assets. A user or group inherits permissions to all the assets which are part of a glossary, when you assign permissions for the glossary. You can filter Glossary assets by glossary and category to assign permissions for specific assets.
  1. In the
    Glossary Security
    workspace, click the
    Permissions
    tab.
    The list of users and groups appears in the
    Users and Groups
    panel.
  2. Select a user or group to assign permissions.
  3. From the
    Actions
    menu, select
    Add
    .
    The
    Add Permissions
    wizard appears.
  4. Select the Glossary asset for which you want to add permissions to the user.
  5. Optionally, to assign permissions for specific assets, filter the assets based on the name, glossary, category or type.
  6. Click
    Next
    .
  7. Select the permission that you want to assign to the user or for the read and write actions. To assign permissions for multiple assets, select the asset before you assign the permission.
    Option
    Description
    Allow
    Permits the user to view or edit the Glossary asset.
    Deny
    Prevents the user from viewing or editing the Glossary asset.
  8. Optionally, to bulk assign permissions for multiple assets, select the assets and select an option from the
    Read
    and
    Write
    drop down menus.
  9. Click
    Save
    .
