India Contact Data Cleansing Rules

Use the contact data cleansing rules to parse, standardize, and validate data about business contacts and individuals.

The following table describes the contact data cleansing rules in the India accelerator:

Description
rule_IND_Aadhar_Number_Validation
Validates Aadhar numbers or unique identification numbers in India data. The rule validates an Aadhar number based on the Verhoeff algorithm. The number contains twelve digits, and the twelfth digit is a checksum.
rule_IND_Gender_Assignment
Assigns gender according to first name in India data. The rule returns "M" for male names, "F" for female names, and "U" if the gender is unknown. For example, the rule assigns the name "Neha Kapur" a gender of "F" for female.
rule_IND_Given_Name_Standard
Returns standard given name equivalents for common nicknames in India data. For example, the rule returns Vishwanath for Vishwa.
rule_IND_Phone_Number_Parse
Parses an India telephone number from the input data. The rule parses the first telephone number in the data, reading from left to right. The rule returns a telephone number and also returns a string that contains the input data with the telephone number removed.
rule_IND_Phone_Number_Standardization
Standardizes India telephone numbers.
The rule returns the telephone number in the following formats:
  • Standard. (nn) nnn- nnnnnn
  • Dashes. nn-nnn-nnnnnnn
  • No spaces. nnnnnnnnnn
rule_IND_Phone_Number_Validation
Validates the area code and length of India telephone numbers. The rule returns the region of the telephone number, as well as codes that indicate if the area code and length of a telephone number are valid.
