You can use Teradata Parallel Transporter to export data from Teradata sources on Linux to the optimized file archive. Teradata Parallel Transporter is the fastest method for data movement and can drastically improve the performance of the Copy to Destination step of archive and retirement jobs.
You configure the Teradata source connection to use Teradata Parallel Transporter. The Teradata Parallel Transporter client must be installed on the same machine that hosts Data Archive. This feature is available with File Archive Service version 6.1.
You can configure Teradata Parallel Transporter to create compressed or uncompressed BCP files. The File Archive Loader job is enhanced to load uncompressed BCP files to the optimized file archive.
The Copy to Destination log in the archive and retirement job is enhanced to show the utility that the job uses to extract data from Teradata sources.
