Installation and Upgrade

This section describes updates and changed behaviors to installation and upgrade in version 6.5.

Upgrading Data Archive

Effective in version 6.5, you install and upgrade Data Archive using an install script as shown in the following table:

Client Machine Java Requirements

Effective in version 6.5, Enterprise Data Manager is available as a download from the Data Archive
Accelerators
 menu. The download includes the
edm.bat
 file to access Enterprise Data Manager and a supported Azul JDK for Windows.
  • If JAVA_HOME is available in the environment, it is used for running
    edm.bat
    .
  • If JAVA_HOME is not available, the Azul JDK in the
    edm
     folder is used for running
    edm.bat
    .
If the client machine does not have JDK installed, Data Visualization Designer uses the Azul JDK inside the Designer folder.
