Multiple-Record Writes to IMS Unload Files

Multiple-Record Writes to IMS Unload Files

When you generate and run a workflow in Test Data Manager with an IMS unload file source, PowerExchange performs a multiple-record write to the IMS unload file target.
To enable multiple-group writes, select the
Multi-Record Datamaps
and
Use Sequence Fields
options in the
Import from PowerExchange
dialog box for the source definition. When you generate the workflow, the generated target definition uses the same data map as the source definition.
When multiple-record writes are enabled, PowerExchange uses group source processing to read source data and group target processing to write to the target. In addition, PowerExchange uses generated sequence fields to pass metadata about the source hierarchical data structure to the target. The target unload file maintains hierarchical relationships in the same physical sequence as in the source database.
