Task Flow

To use Persistent Data Masking and Data Subset with sequential or VSAM sources, complete the following steps:
  1. Install and configure PowerExchange on z/OS.
  2. Install and configure PowerExchange on the PowerCenter services machine.
  3. Install and configure PowerExchange on the PowerCenter Client machine.
  4. Define data maps for sequential or VSAM sources and targets on z/OS.
  5. Import PowerExchange source definitions into PowerCenter.
  6. Log in to the TDM Workbench.
  7. Define PowerExchange NRDB Batch connections.
  8. Import source and target connections into the TDM repository.
  9. Define data masking rules and policies.
  10. Create a project to mask specific data sources and to define a subset of the data.
  11. Optionally, create and run profiles and import them into the TDM repository.
  12. Define entities and groups in data subset.
  13. Assign policies and rules to the source data for data masking.
  14. Create a plan to run the data subset and masking operations.
  15. Generate a workflow from the plan.
  16. Run the workflow and monitor the job.
