Prerequisites for creating custom field in Salesforce opportunity and product entities

To create a custom field in the Salesforce opportunity and product entities, perform the following steps:
  1. Log in to the Salesforce organization.
  2. Go to
    Setup
    Build
    Customize
    Opportunities
    Fields
    , and then click
    New
    .

  3. In the
    Field Label
     and
    Field Name
     fields, enter the value as
    SKU
     and save the custom field.
    You must create a custom field with the
    Text
     data type.

    Setup
    Build
    Customize
    Products
    Fields
    , and then click
    New
    .

     fields, enter the value as
    Product_Price
    , select the type as
    Number
