Output settings

Associate a hierarchical schema or intelligent structure model with the Hierarchy Builder transformation, define the precision of the output, and select the output format on the
Output Settings
tab of the
Properties
panel.
To associate a hierarchical schema with the transformation you can select an existing hierarchical schema or create a hierarchical schema from an XSD file or a JSON sample file.
To associate an intelligent structure model with the transformation you create a model from an Avro, Parquet, or ORC sample file.
To define a buffer size for the output, enter the value in the
Precision
field.
If you associate a JSON-based schema with the transformation, you can include NULL values in the output. In the
NULL values
field, select
Keep
.
The default output format of the transformation is string. To change the output format to binary, from the
Output Format
list, select
Binary
.
To write the data to a flat file, select
Write to file
and enter the file path in the
File path
field. The path can't be parameterized.
Write data to a flat file when the transformation processes a large amount of data and the output field size exceeds 100 MB.
