Adding a Record to the Canvas

Adding a Record to the Canvas

To create a relationship to a record that is not on the canvas, search for the record and add it to the canvas.
  1. On the toolbar, click
    Add to Canvas
    .
    If you navigate to the Hierarchy view from a record tab, the Smart Search dialog box opens. If you navigate to the Hierarchy view from the legacy Data tab, the Search dialog box opens.
  2. If the
    Smart Search
    dialog box opens, perform the following steps:
    1. Optionally, select the type of business entity.
    2. Type the search term.
    3. Click
      Search
      .
      If the search process finds matches, the matching records appear in the search results.
    4. Optionally, use the filters to narrow the search results.
    5. If the record appears in the search results, select the record and click
      Select
      .
      The record appears on the canvas.
  3. If the legacy
    Search
    dialog box opens, perform the following steps:
    1. Enter the search criteria.
    2. Click
      Run Search
      .
    3. If the record appears in the search results, select the record and click
      Add to Canvas
      .
      The record appears on the canvas.

    Create a relationship between the added record and other records.
