Types of Data Supported by SSA-NAME3

Types of Data Supported by SSA-NAME3

SSA-NAME3 supports applications that search databases using the following types of data:
Data type
Description
person names
Formatted or unformatted, with or without titles and other noise, including nicknames and names with multiple entities, in any language.
organization names
Standardized or unstandardized, with or without legal endings and other noise, including abbreviations and names with multiple entities, in any language.
addresses
Formatted or unformatted, standardized or in a raw form, typically using that part of an address up to but not including the locality information.
product names
Including embedded codes, sizes and part numbers.
titles
From files, books, songs, etc.
descriptions
In free text of up to 255 characters in length, including local jargon and abbreviations.
SSA-NAME3 supports applications that need to match data using one or more of the following data types:
Data type
Description
names, addresses and descriptions
Despite the error and variation and including multiple occurrences of such data fields.
identification codes
ID numbers, Social Security Numbers, Account codes, Driver’s license numbers, etc., taking into account transpositions and missing digits.
dates
Which can be matched, despite errors, as equivalent, or within range or age parameters.
attributes
Phone numbers, gender, eye color, regions, etc.
SSA-NAME3 supports applications that need to match data for the following business "purposes" and more:

SSA-NAME3 also supports applications that need to filter records, prior to matching, based on the setting of a record flag or list of flags.
SSA-NAME3 supports search strategies on any database or access method so that:
  • physical database access can be optimized
  • logical database access can be simplified
  • maximum quality possible can be obtained
  • quality and performance can be balanced to the application needs
