You can create logical groups of Hub Servers and Process Servers by grouping Java Virtual Machines (JVMs). When you deploy the Hub Server and Process Server applications in a JVM group, all communication between the applications stays within the group. To group JVMs, you assign a group ID to each JVM in the MDM Hub environment.
