Step 5: Replicate Source Files and Position Files

If you use File or Static File source services in your data flow, EDS creates a position file that tracks where the data has been read until. EDS saves the position file in the following directory:

<Source file location>/.VDSPos

To back up the position file directory, copy the directory to the respective source folder on the disaster recovery site periodically.

If you use a Syslog UDS source in your data flows, you will not be able to recover data in the event of a catastrophic failure.
