To use the local archetype descriptor, add it to Eclipse.
  1. Start Eclipse.
  2. Go to
    Window
    Preferences
    Maven
    Archetypes
  3. Click
    Add Local Catalog
    .
    The
    Local Archetype Catalog
     window opens.
  4. Browse to the location of the
    archetype-catalog.xml
     file and click
    Open
    .
    The following image shows the
    Local Archetype Catalog
     window:

    OK

    Apply

     to add the catalog.
