Local cluster

 components in a local cluster for both cloud and on-premises ecosystems:
In a cloud ecosystem, Data Integration interacts with the Secure Agent machine on the cloud. In an on-premises ecosystem, Data Integration interacts with an on-premises Secure Agent machine through a firewall. In both cases, the Kubernetes cluster runs directly on the Secure Agent machine.

Fully-managed cluster

Data Integration interacts with a Secure Agent machine on the cloud. The Secure Agent machine connects to a virtual machine in the advanced cluster, and that virtual machine connects to other virtual machines, where the virtual machines represent the advanced cluster.

Data Integration interacts with a Secure Agent machine in your cloud ecosystem. The Secure Agent machine connects to a Kubernetes cluster that is in a different VPC or virtual network in your ecosystem. The Kubernetes cluster includes master and worker nodes where Kubernetes Pods run.

Data Integration interacts with the serverless data plane in the serverless runtime environment. The serverless runtime environment uses a data plane and a control plane to route traffic between serverless runtime environment components and Data Integration.
