The Incremental Deployment Wizard is the wizard that you use to create an application patch.
When you create the application patch, you choose objects to include in the patch, preview the amount of impact that the patch will have on the run-time application, and decide how to deploy the patch.
The following image shows the Source Object Selection page where you can choose the type of patch that you want to create and select objects that you want to include in the patch:
For each object, you can use the Design-time Location column to view the path to the object in the design-time application. The wizard also lists the objects' dependencies in the Related Objects column based on the patch type. For example, for a patch type that inherits direct and indirect dependencies, the wizard lists each object's direct and indirect dependencies.
In the bottom-right corner of the page, you can preview a summary of the impact on the run-time objects. The Update statistic shows the total number of objects that will be modified or affected. The Add statistic shows the total number of objects that will be added. To view the impact on a particular run-time object, you can preview the application.
The following image shows the application preview:
You can match the list of run-time objects in the preview to the design-time objects by matching the object names and matching the run-time location to the design-time location. For each object, the impact lists whether the object will be modified, affected, added, or unchanged.
After you exit the preview, you can choose a deployment strategy to deploy the patch directly to a Data Integration Service or to an application patch archive file.
The following image shows the options for the deployment strategy:
When you choose a deployment strategy, you can also review the history of patches that have been created for the incremental application.
