Set Up Databases

Set Up Databases

Before you install
Data Engineering Integration
, you must set up some databases for the repositories and application services associated with
Data Engineering Integration
. The databases store data, metadata, and run-time results of the repositories and application services.
When you set up a database, you must ensure that the required disk space is available on the database and create the database with parameters required by
Data Engineering Integration
. You must also create user accounts for the databases and install the database clients.
For more information about the disk space, parameters, user accounts, and clients for the databases, see the
Installation for Data Engineering
guide for the
Data Engineering Integration
version that you want to install.
To install
Data Engineering Integration
with all its supported application services, you must set up the following databases:
Domain configuration repository database
The domain stores configuration and user information in the domain configuration repository. You can create the domain configuration repository on an Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server database.
Model repository database
The Model repository stores information about the metadata for the data objects and mappings in a relational database.
If you want to generate monitoring statistics, you must create a dedicated monitoring Model repository to store run-time monitoring statistics.
You can create the Model repository
and the monitoring Model repository
on an Oracle, Microsoft Azure SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL database.
You can either create an on-premises database or use a managed database for each repository and application service. When you run the Docker image, you must provide information about the databases.
