Create Connections

Create Connections

In the Administrator tool, create connections to the databases that the application services use. You need to specify the connection details while you configure the application service.
When you create the database connection, specify the database connection properties and test the connection.
The following table describes the database connections that you need to create before the application services can access the associated databases.
Database Connection
Description
Data object cache database
To access the data object cache, create the data object cache connection for the Data Integration Service.
Workflow database
To store run-time metadata for workflows, create the workflow database connection for the Data Integration Service.
Profiling warehouse database
To create and run profiles and scorecards, create the profiling warehouse database connection for the Data Integration Service.
Use this instance of the Data Integration Service when you configure the run-time properties of the Analyst Service.
To use the Microsoft SQL Server database as the profiling warehouse, choose ODBC as the provider type, and clear the
use DSN
option in the
Microsoft SQL Server connection properties
dialog box when you configure the Microsoft SQL Server connection.
Reference data warehouse
To store reference table data, create the reference data warehouse connection for the Content Management Service.
