wizard to import PostgreSQL source and target definitions into the PowerCenter repository.
You must import PostgreSQL source and target objects before you create a mapping.
Start PowerCenter Designer and connect to a PowerCenter repository configured with a PostgreSQL instance.
Open a source or target folder.
Select
Source Analyzer
or
Target Designer
.
In the Source Analyzer, click
Sources
Create PowerExchange For PostgreSQL Source
.

The
PostgreSQL Connection Details
dialog box appears.
In the Target Analyzer, click
Targets
Create PowerExchange For PostgreSQL Target
.

PostgreSQL Connection Details
dialog box appears.
When the source type is PowerExchange for Change Data Capture (CDC), you
cannot use PostgreSQL targets with native connection. Plan your mappings
accordingly to avoid incompatible configurations.
Configure the PostgreSQL connection parameters.
Click
Test
to test the connection.
Click
Finish
to add the connection.
Click
Next
.
The
Select Objects from
tab appears.
Select the database and schema in
Package Explorer
.
The following image shows the list of tables that appear:
Select the table that you want to import, and then click
Import
.
To view the table metadata, select the table, and double-click the table name.
