Editing Nonrelational Source and Target Definitions

Editing Nonrelational Source and Target Definitions

You can edit nonrelational source and target definitions to make minor changes to the definition. For example, you can:
  • Modify a column datatype
  • Modify the owner name
  • Modify column key relationships
  • Add or delete columns
  • Add a description of the definition
  • Create metadata extensions
If you use the nonrelational source in a CDC session you do not need to add the DTL__CAPXACTION field nor do you need to include an Update Strategy transformation. PWXPC will automatically include the DTL__CAPXACTION column in its SELECT statement for CDC sources. It then uses the value of the DTL__CAPXACTION to construct the appropriate SQL statement (INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE).
