Datatypes and Code Pages Overview

PowerCenter uses the following datatypes when reading source data, transforming the data, and writing target data:
  • Native datatypes.
    Specific to the source and target databases or PowerExchange. Native datatypes appear in source and target definitions.
  • Transformation datatypes.
    Generic datatypes that appear in transformations. The PowerCenter Integration Service uses the datatypes to move data across platforms.
