Setting Up Test Data Manager Overview

Setting Up Test Data Manager Overview

In this lesson, you set up Test Data Manager to perform the data masking and data subset operations. You must log in to Test Data Manager and create source and target connections. To store the TDM components, you must create a project and import data sources from the connections that you created.

Lesson Concepts

You need an Informatica user account to log in to Test Data Manager. Create source and target connections to perform data subset and data masking operations. You must have administrator privileges to create source and target connections. Create a project to store the data masking and data subset components. Import data sources to define the source and target connections. You can import data sources from the PowerCenter repository or an external database to a project in Test Data Manager.

Lesson Objectives

In this lesson, you perform the following tasks:
  • Log in to Test Data Manager with the Informatica user account.
  • Create source and target connections.
  • Create a project to store the TDM components.
  • Import data sources into the project.
  • Review metadata
