Running a mapping task

Running a mapping task

A mapping task runs on premises under control of the Secure Agent.
By default, a mapping task runs to the end of log in the PowerExchange Logger log files and then stops. You must restart the mapping task to resume change data extraction processing. Alternatively, you can create a schedule that runs the mapping task on a recurring or continuous basis without manual intervention. You can define the schedule to minimize the time between mapping task runs.
To run the mapping task, use any of the following methods:
  • After you finish configuring the mapping task, click
    Run
    .
  • Manually start the mapping task from the
    Explore
    page.
  • Create a schedule that runs the mapping task based on a date, time, and repeat frequency, such as hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or a specific number of minutes.
  • Select the
    Continuous Extraction
runtime property to run the mapping task continuously. The mapping task runs until you stop the task in the Monitor.
  • Include the mapping task in a taskflow and then run the taskflow.
