MRI Software mapping example

MRI Software mapping example

You want to read data from MRI Software and write data to a flat file.
Perform the following steps to create a mapping:
  1. Select
    Data Integration
    from the menu.
    The Data Integration Home page appears.
  2. To create a mapping, click
    New
    and then in the
    New Asset
    dialog box, click
    Mapping
    .
  3. Click
    Create
    .
    The Mapping Designer appears with a new mapping displayed in the mapping canvas.
  4. In the
    Properties
    panel, enter the mapping name and select the location you want the mapping to reside in, or use the default location.
  5. On the mapping canvas, click the Source transformation.
    1. In the
      Properties
      panel, click
      General
      and enter a name for the Source transformation.
    2. Click
      Source
      and select an MRI Software connection to read MRI Software objects.
    3. Select
      Single Object
      as the
      Source Type
      .
    4. Select the MRI Software object for which you want to read the data.
    5. Under Query Options, configure the filter fields for the MRI Software objects.
      The filter is mandatory for certain MRI Software objects. For more information, see Filtering records from MRI Software sources.
    6. To save the mapping and continue, click
      Save
      .
  6. On the mapping canvas, click the Target transformation.
    1. In the
      Properties
      panel, click
      General
      and enter a name for the Source transformation.
    2. Click
      Target
      and select a flat file connection to write data to a flat file.
    3. Select
      Single Object
      as the
      Target Type
      .
    4. Select the flat file as the target object.
    5. Select
      Insert
      as the
      Operation
      .
      You can perform only the insert operation
    6. In the
      Field Mapping
      tab, map the incoming fields to the target fields. You can manually map an incoming field to a target field or automatically map fields based on the field names.
  7. Save and run the mapping.
    After you validate the mapping, you can use the mapping to create a mapping task.
