Rules and guidelines for Oracle sources and targets in replication tasks

Rules and guidelines for Oracle sources and targets in
replication
tasks

Use the following rules and guidelines for Oracle sources and targets in a
replication
task:
  • You cannot configure multiple
    replication
tasks to replicate the same source object to the same target object.
For example, you cannot configure two
    replication
tasks to write Salesforce Account data to the SF_ACCOUNT Oracle database table.
  • If you configure a
    replication
task to replicate all objects from the Public schema and the schema contains synonyms, the task might fail. The task fails when the user account for the Oracle connection does not have the Select privilege on the synonyms in the Public schema. The task also fails if the synonym names do not begin with a letter or underscore (_).
  • If you replicate timestamp data to an Oracle database, the
    replication
task truncates fractional seconds to the second.
    For example, the
    replication
    task truncates 12:52:47.58 to 12:52:47.
  • When you configure replications tasks for data that contains the Clob or Blob data types, the Blob data type is truncated to 32000 bytes and the Clob data type is truncated to 32000 characters.
