Upgrading the
Identity Resolution
Components in Console Mode

Optionally, if you plan to use a parameter file, create a parameter file with
instparms.txt
as its name, and add the required parameters to the file.
Consider the following guidelines when you specify parameters in the parameter file:
  • Use a space or a new line to separate the parameters.
  • Specify the parameters in any order.
  • If you use a parameter both in the parameter file and in the console, the latest occurrence of the parameter takes precedence. The installer reads the parameter file first and then the parameters specified in the console. The values of the parameters specified in the console override the values of the parameters specified in the file.
To upgrade the
Identity Resolution
components, perform the following tasks:
  1. Extract the installer files.
  2. Optionally, if you plan to use a parameter file, perform the following tasks:
    1. Create a parameter file and name it as
      instparms.txt
      .
    2. Add the required parameters to the file, and save the file.
  3. From the root directory of the installer, run the following command:
    install [<Parameter File>] --install-type upg|force-upgrade <Parameter List>
    Configure the following parameters:
    Parameter File
    Optional. Absolute path of the parameter file,
    instparms.txt
    . For example:
    install c:\store\instparms.txt
    --install-type upg|force-upgrade
    Type of installation. Enter one of the following values:
    • upg
      . Performs an upgrade of an existing installation. If the installer identifies that the hotfix is applied, the installer ends the upgrade process.
    • force-upgrade
      . Performs a forced upgrade of an existing installation. If the installer identifies that the hotfix is applied, the installer reapplies the hotfix.
    Parameter List
    List of parameters that you can add to the installer. If you do not specify any parameter, the installer considers the existing value.
