Step 6. Install IBM DB2 Driver for ODBC and CLI

You must install IBM DB2 Driver for ODBC and CLI to provide run-time support for the DB2 CLI API and the ODBC API. For more information about installing IBM DB2 Driver for ODBC and CLI, see the database documentation.
You must update the IBM DB2 ODBC and CLI initialization file,
db2cli.ini
, with the database source name and the database alias name.
  1. Open the
    db2cli.ini
    file that you can find in the following directory:
    • On Windows:
      <Database Instance Home Directory>\sqllib
    • On UNIX:
      <Database Instance Home Directory>/sqllib
  2. Add the following entries to the
    db2cli.ini
    file:
    [<data-source>] DBALIAS=<alias>
    The
    db2cli.ini
    file uses the following parameters:
    data-source
    Name of the data source.
    alias
    Name of the database alias.
