Prerequisites

Prerequisites

Before you migrate to business entities and the E360 views, configure the software to support smart search and business process management (BPM) workflows. The software is installed as part of the installation or upgrade process. You need to ensure the software is configured correctly.
The following table lists the prerequisite software and tells you where to find the configuration instructions:

Apache Solr and Apache ZooKeeper
The MDM Hub uses Apache Solr to perform smart searches, that is, full text searches on selected fields in the master data.
Apache Solr is an open-source enterprise search application. SolrCloud uses a cluster of Solr servers to provide distributed indexing and search. Apache ZooKeeper is a centralized service that synchronizes searches across multiple Solr servers.

ActiveVOS
Required when you want to use BPM workflows with the BE data model.
The MDM Hub uses ActiveVOS to run BPM workflows and to create review tasks. When you upgrade, install ActiveVOS as part of the Hub Server upgrade process, and select the BE ActiveVOS workflow adapter as a workflow engine in the MDM Hub Console.
