Configuring the Element Descriptor Format

Configuring the Element Descriptor Format

You can configure the
ElementAbbreviation
attribute and the
GlobalPreferredDescriptor
attribute of the
Result
element in
Parameters.xml
to specify how Informatica Address Verification handles element descriptors in the result output.
  • To use standard abbreviations for address elements, set the
    ElementAbbreviation
    attribute of the
    Result
    element to ON.
If the reference address database contains abbreviations for element descriptors, Address Verification uses those abbreviations instead of their expanded forms in the result output.
  • To specify the element descriptor for addresses in Australia and New Zealand, set the
    GlobalPreferredDescriptor
attribute to one of the following values:
    • DATABASE
    • LONG
    • SHORT
    • PRESERVE_INPUT
    The
    GlobalPreferredDescriptor
    setting also applies to the
    Strasse
    element in Germany addresses.
    If you set
    GlobalPreferredDescriptor
to a value other than DATABASE, the
    GlobalPreferredDescriptor
    setting takes precedence over the
    ElementAbbreviation
    setting.
