Configuring Parameters for Sqoop Arguments in the Mapping

In a Sqoop mapping, you can parameterize the Sqoop import and export arguments.

Open the Sqoop mapping where you want to parameterize the Sqoop arguments.

Click the

Parameters

tab, and define a parameter name and parameter value.

For example, enter the parameter name as

Param_splitByColumn

Select the Read or Write transformation that is associated with the data object.

Click the

Advanced

tab.

Perform one of the following steps:

To parameterize Sqoop import arguments for the data object, click the

Additional Sqoop Import Arguments

text box and enter the parameter name you defined in the

Parameters

tab.

To parameterize Sqoop export arguments for the data object, click the

Additional Sqoop Export Arguments

text box and enter the parameter name you defined in the

Parameters

tab.

Use the following format to specify the parameter name for a Sqoop import or export argument:

--<Sqoop_argument_name> $<parameter_name>

For example, enter

--split-by $Param_splitByColumn
