Creating Hints

Create hints to send instructions to the database optimizer to determine a query plan.

Open the customized data object or the relational data object instance.

Select the

Read

view.

Select the Output transformation.

Select the

Query

properties.

Select the simple query.

Click

Edit

next to the

Hints

field.

The

Hints

dialog box appears.

Enter the hint in the

SQL Query

field.

The Developer tool does not validate the hint.

Click

Save the data object.
