Step 3. Download and Extract the JCE Policy Files

The DataDirect JDBC driver for Oracle requires Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Policy files to support 256-bit strength encryption.

For all operating systems except AIX, download the Oracle JCE Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy File 6, jce_policy-6.zip, from the Oracle website to your local machine. For the AIX operating system, download the IBM Unrestricted SDK JCE Policy File for older versions of the SDK, unrestricted.zip, from the IBM website to your local machine.

Extract the local_policy.jar and US_export_policy.jar files to the following directory:
