CheckNumData Function

CheckNumData Function

You can associate the new CheckNumData function with a user-deifned field to enable a calling program to check whether a field with the data type of CHAR, NUMCHAR, ZONED, or PACKED contains valid numeric characters. If the program finds invalid data, it can take additional action. CheckNumData performs a function similar to the data checking options in the data map properties. However, CheckNumData applies data checking to a single field rather than to the entire data map. You can use CheckNumData to validate numeric data fields before conversion processing by another function such as CopyData.
