DB2 Catalog Data Maps

DB2 Catalog Data Maps

Because DB2 is a relational database, a DB2 data map is not required for PowerExchange to access DB2 tables.
However, However, in certain cases, defining a data map allows you to process the data in a way that is not otherwise possible. For more information, see Use Cases for DB2 Data Maps.
You can add data maps for the following DB2 data sources:
  • DB2 for i5/OS
  • DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows
  • DB2 for z/OS
To test a DB2 data map, run a database row test.
Do not attempt to create capture registrations with BI and CI columns for DB2 data maps that include merged expression columns. If you attempt to register an expression column with BI or CI columns, the BI column reflects the after-image data, rather than the before-image data. The CI column can also contain incorrect values.
