option indicates if the registration is available for change capture use, temporarily suspended, or retained only for history.
When you create a capture registration, its initial
Status
setting is
Inactive
.
From the PowerExchange Navigator, you can change the status with limitations. The following one-way transitions are allowable:
Inactive
>
Active
>
History
Suspended
>
History
Use the following descriptions to determine which status option to use:
Inactive
The initial status that prevents data from being captured for the source before the target is materialized.
Active
The status that allows changes to be captured for the registered source based on the capture registration.
History
The status that permanently disables the capture registration for change capture use but that retains the capture registration for audit and historical purposes. After you set the registration status to History, you cannot perform the following actions:
Use the same registration name again unless you delete the registration and create another registration with that name.
Set the registration to Active again. To resume change capture for the source, you must create another capture registration.
Suspended
The status that is set after you run the PWXUCREG utility SUSPEND_REGISTRATION command to temporarily suspend change capture for the registered source. You cannot select this status from the PowerExchange Navigator. Only the following types of CDC data sources can have this status: Adabas, Datacom table-based, IDMS log-based, and IMS log-based. While the status is Suspended, PowerExchange does not capture changes for the registered source. You can reactivate the registration for change capture use by issuing a different PWXUCREG utility command.
You can change the status of Suspended back to Active by issuing the ACTIVATE_REGISTRATION command with the PWXUCREG utility. For more information, see the
