Source Object Selection

Source Object Selection

On the
Source Object Selection
page, choose the type of patch that you want to create and select the objects that you want to include in the patch.
The following image shows the
Source Object Selection
page:
This image shows the Source Object Selection page in the Incremental Deployment wizard. Next to Include, the option "Selected objects and first-degree related objects" is selected. The table lists the following objects: the mappings Mapping A, Mapping B, and Mapping C; and the workflow Workflow A. The mappings Mapping A and Mapping C are selected. The mapping Mapping B and the workflow Workflow A are inherited, and their rows are greyed out. The bottom of the page states that 4 out of 4 objects are selected, 3 out of 3 objects will be updated, and 1 object will be added.
For each object, you can use the Design-time Location column to view the path to the object in the design-time application. The wizard also lists the objects' dependencies in the Related Objects column based on the patch type. For example, for a patch type that inherits direct and indirect dependencies, the wizard lists each object's direct and indirect dependencies.
In the bottom-right corner of the page, you can preview a summary of the impact on the run-time objects. The Update statistic shows the total number of objects that will be modified or affected. The Add statistic shows the total number of objects that will be added. To view the impact on a particular run-time object, you can preview the application.
The following image shows the application preview:
This image shows the application preview. The table lists the following objects: the mappings Mapping A, Mapping B, and Mapping C; and the workflow Workflow A. The impact for the objects Mapping A, Mapping B, and Workflow A is Modify. The impact for the object Mapping C is Add.
You can match the list of run-time objects in the preview to the design-time objects by matching the object names and matching the run-time location to the design-time location. For each object, the impact lists whether the object will be modified, affected, added, or unchanged.
