Installation and Upgrade

Read this section to learn about the installation and upgrade in version 10.5.

Update the /etc/sudoers file

Before you install or upgrade on UNIX or Linux, update the NOPASSWD entry in the
/etc/sudoers
 file based on the user that runs the installer. You can run the installer as an operating system user or as a user that belongs to the wheel group.
If you are an operating system user, set the following NOPASSWD entry:
<Operating system user> ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL
If you belong to the wheel group, set the following NOPASSWD entry:
%wheel ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL

Metadata Access Service

The Informatica installer failed to create the Metadata Access Service for a custom SSL domain.
Set the following environment variables in the session before you start the Informatica installation:
  • INFA_TRUSTSTORE
  • INFA_TRUSTSTORE_PASSWORD

Enterprise Data Preparation Service and Interactive Data Preparation Service

When you install Enterprise Data Preparation in silent mode, the installer fails to create the Enterprise Data Preparation Service and the Interactive Data Preparation Service. You might see an error similar to the following sample:
[ICMD_10033] Command [createService] failed with error. Cannot create service because of error [[IDLCMD_10038] [MaxConcurrentUploadAndDownload] property is not a valid integer.
To workaround the issue, complete the following tasks to create the services:
  • Create the Enterprise Data Preparation Service through the Administrator tool after you install. During service creation, add an integer value in
    Advanced Options
    Maximum Concurrent Upload/Download Activities
    .
  • To create the Interactive Data Preparation Service, configure the silent input properties file and rename the DPS_SERVICE_NAME key to be DPS_DIS_SERVICE_NAME and provide the Data Integration Service name as a value for association in the Advanced Options. (IDL-18306)
