Syslog Appender Properties

Syslog Appender Properties

The following table describes the Syslog appender properties:
Property
Description
Name
The name of the appender. The appender name can contain alphabetic characters, numbers, and underscores (_), and must not exceed 60 characters.
Syslog Host
The host name or IP address of the Syslog server.
Facility
The Syslog facility. A system administrator can set Facility to one of the following strings: KERN, USER, MAIL, DAEMON, AUTH, SYSLOG, LPR, NEWS, UUCP, CRON, AUTHPRIV, FTP, LOCAL0, LOCAL1, LOCAL2, LOCAL3, LOCAL4, LOCAL5, LOCAL6, LOCAL7.
Default is USER.
Conversion Pattern
The conversion pattern for the Syslog appender that you can modify. By default, the pattern is:
%d{MM/dd HH\:mm\:ss,SSS} [%t] %-5p - %m%n
