Creating a Plan Overview

Creating a Plan Overview

In this lesson, you create a plan and define the source and target connections. Define workflow properties in the plan, such as commit properties, update strategies, and recovery strategies.

Lesson Concepts

A plan includes the components that you need to generate a workflow. You can add data masking and data subset components to the same plan. You can create multiple workflows from one plan. When you add both subset and masking components to a plan, TDM performs the subset operation first. TDM then applies masking rules to columns in the subset data that have masking assignments.

Lesson Objectives

In this lesson, perform the following task:
  • Create a plan and add the credit card masking rule and the entity. Configure the source and target databases with the connections and other plan properties.
