Step 4. Import Data Sources

Step 4. Import Data Sources

Import data sources from the TDM_Source1 database connection.
  1. In the project ,click
    Actions
    Import Metadata
    .
    The
    Import Metadata
    dialog box appears.
  2. To import metadata from a database, choose
    Datasource Connection
    and select TDM_Source1 database connection.
    The following image shows the options to import metadata:
    The Import Metadata dialog box shows the options to select the metadata from. The Datasource Connection option is selected on the screen.
  3. Choose whether you want to review the metadata changes before you import the data sources. You can choose to skip the import options.
  4. Click
    Next
    .
  5. Select the C00708075A metadata schema to import from the database. You can filter folders by folder name or description.
  6. Click
    Next
    .
  7. Select all the tables within the data source C00708075A to import.
    The following image shows the sample tables in a database connection:
    The Import Metadata dialog box shows the list of tables within the data source C00708075A.
  8. Click
    Next
    .
  9. To import the data source immediately, select
    Import Now
    .
  10. Click
    Finish
    .
    While the import job runs, view the progress of the import job in the
    Monitor
    view. After the import job finishes, you can access the imported metadata through the
    Data Sources
    details view.
