Testing the Database Configuration

Testing the Database Configuration

After you configure the database, verify the database configuration to ensure that
MDM Registry Edition
communicates with the database.
You can use the dblist utility to verify your ODBC configuration. You can find the dblist utility in the following directory:
  • On Windows:
    <MDM Registry Edition Installation Directory>\bin
  • On UNIX:
    <MDM Registry Edition Installation Directory>/bin
The dblist utility uses the following syntax:
dblist -c -dodb:99:<User Name>/<Password>@<Service Name> [-i]
The dblist utility uses the following parameters:
User Name
Name of the user that you created.
Password
Password for the user.
Service Name
Service name that
MDM Registry Edition
uses to refer to the database service.
-i
Optional. Includes debug information in the response.
The following text shows a sample response of the dblist utility:
dblist -c -dodb:99:ssa/SSA@ora920 -i Maximum connections per module: 1024 Linked databases: sdb: odb: Driver Manager: 'Informatica ODBC Driver Manager 860275' ODBC Driver: 'ssaoci9 SSADB8 2.7.0.00GCCLIBC2Aug 20 2013 16:05:00' DBMS Name: 'Oracle DBMS (11.2.0.1.0)' Native DB type: 'ora' Schema: 'DG6BYAGA' dbtype = ora driver = libssaoci9.so server = o11r2lx6.cbr ====== ODBC Driver = > testing ====== SQLROWSETSIZE = 8 bytes SQLLEN = 8 bytes SQL_C_WCHAR = 2 bytes *** Connection successful ***
