Comments and Attachments for Tasks

You can configure whether users must add a comment or attachment when they trigger a workflow or perform task actions. To configure the comment and attachment settings, use the Provisioning tool.

Previously, users could add comments to tasks, but you could not require users to add comments.

Workflow Triggers

You can configure a workflow trigger to prompt users for comments, attachments, or both. For example, you can configure the unmerge task trigger so that users must add a comment when they trigger unmerge tasks.

Task Types

You can configure a task type to prompt users for comments, attachments, or both. You can also allow users to attach files from the

Task Details

dialog box. For example, you can configure review tasks so that reviewers must add a comment and attachment when they reject a proposed change to a business entity record. You can configure merge tasks so that reviewers can attach files when they edit the task details.
